The most common way of shipping a pairing is to join the names with an x (PhilxRya) or a slash (Phil/Rya). However, there are other ways to do it (sticking names directly together, etc.)...

Reserved for one-way relationships is the > or < symbol. This means that the one the arrow is pointing at is crushed upon by the other, but doesn't necessarily return the feelings. (Elly > Phil would mean that the shipper wants to see Elly get a crush on Phil.)
